Concert Tickets at Anime Con
Posted by Cindy on August 4, 2009Wow, talk about plans going all wrong! My roommate and I only live about 45 minutes or so from Anaheim, so we never thought it would be necessary to take full advantage of Day Zero in all the years we’ve attended an AX . Our real interest this year for AX was getting Concert Tickets or SKIN. Since we knew the lines on Day One would be a total nightmare of outrageous proportions, we thought it would be best to pick up our badge holders and tickets on Day Zero.
Were we ever wrong. Our plan was to leave early in the afternoon so we would avoid the 5 o-clock rush hour traffic, but both of us couldn’t get off work until 4pm. So, of course, we ran into the worst possible traffic congestion we’ve ever seen. Literally, it took us 2 hours to get to Anaheim, where it would’ve only taken 1 hour with regular traffic congestion. We managed to find parking easy enough, that was great. We picked up our badge holders with ease too, no lines, at all! We were pretty please with the ease of parking and getting our badge holders, so we thought picking up the Concert Tickets would be a breeze too. We were so wrong. We stood in a gigantic line for over 3 hours! There was no way we’d be able to get our tickets by the 8pm deadline. We watched as most of the people waiting in line gave up and left. A few, like ourselves stupidly continued to wait. Luckily, the box office stayed open until 9pm.
Even though our original plan was to pick up our badge holders and tickets on Day Zero, zipping in and out in a quick fashion didn’t happen, but in the end it turned out okay. But, wow, Day One…that’s a totally another story….a true disaster!
