When we arrived in Cape Town via Airplane from the United States, and after getting our luggage, we were greeted by a coachman waiting to take us to our Cape Town Luxury Hotel . It was wonderful to be able to not get stressed once we arrived to Cape Town. Our hotel provided everything we needed to feel relaxed after an international flight. Something we needed before we went on our expedition of all of southern Africa.
Our expedition began with Cape Town itself. It’s one of the world’s most beautiful cities. Then we explored the Cape of Good Hope and then off to the Winelands where we bicycled through amazing countryside, lush and dotted with vineyards, historical villages and Cape Dutch homes. Then the tour took us along the Garden Route for whale watching. If you’ve never seen a whale, I highly recommend taking a whale tour, the beasts are magnificent, I never realized how big they really are and how peaceful and graceful in the water they are. While whale watching, we also got a phenomenal coastal view and back on shore we took the option to go hiking through a pristine nature reserve. We had the option to go tubing or kayaking, but I’m glad we picked hiking.
After the hike we got to spend the night at a game reserve, which offered, if we wanted to, we could go gaming, but I’m not into killing animals. But, what I did like was the drive through the reserve where we drove up right next to an elephant. I also saw the cheetah running after some game and a leopard sleeping in a tree. The next day, we were back at our hotel room in Cape Town. I took a much needed nap. I will remember this expedition for the rest of my life. Truly, a beautiful experience.
